What DEMOD/NG does about it
Two RF inputs for antenna diversity and lab-tested sensitivity down to −140 dBm hold the link longer. Video leaves the board as IP over Ethernet or USB, straight into the ground station.
Overview
The ground half of the video link
DEMOD/NG is the ground receiver for the iMOD/NG transmitter. It demodulates the encrypted digital stream, decodes or passes through the H.264 video and hands it to the ground station as IP video over Ethernet or USB.
Two RF inputs let the ground station combine a directional and an omnidirectional antenna, or two antennas pointed at different sectors, so the receiver always has the better signal to work with. Sensitivity has been measured in the laboratory down to −140 dBm.
At 58 g the board fits inside a portable ground control station, a vehicle rack or a mast-mounted enclosure. The same receiver family has been in frontline service in Ukraine for over eight years.
